Kindhouse was founded on a simple premise: owners deserve an advisor who has actually built things. Someone with the technical credentials, field experience, and personal accountability to stand on their side of the table and fight for their interests.
Mark Kindhouse founded Kindhouse Capital Asset Advisory after more than twenty years on every side of the capital delivery table: as a contractor's field leader, as a construction manager running multi-hundred-million-dollar programs, as an owner's advisor inside a national consulting practice, and as a U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps officer building facilities on deployment timelines with no room for failure.
That range is rare. Most advisors have seen one side of the table. Mark has sat in all of them, and built Kindhouse to bring that full view to one side only: yours.
Kindhouse Capital Asset Advisory was founded to bring that level of experience directly to owners, without the overhead, the conflicts, or the institutional inertia of a large firm.
Kindhouse is a California-based capital projects advisory firm serving public agencies, private developers, and institutional owners nationwide. We are deliberately structured as a boutique practice, lean, senior-led, and focused on engagements where the principal is directly involved in the work.
We do not staff projects with junior personnel and call it advisory. When you engage Kindhouse, you get the principal: in the meetings, in the field, and accountable for the outcome.
Kindhouse represents owners, and only owners. We have no design practice, no construction arm, no contractor affiliations. Our advice is structurally free of conflicts, and that independence is the foundation of everything we do.
Advisory without engineering depth is just opinion. A California PE (Civil), CCM, and LEED AP BD+C means we can read the drawings, evaluate the schedule, challenge the contractor's claims, and know when something is wrong before it becomes a problem.
We are not here to produce reports. We are here to produce outcomes. That means being in the field, being in the meetings, and being accountable for the results, the same way we were accountable in uniform.
Distressed projects, claims environments, and programs that have lost their way are where Kindhouse adds the most value. We have navigated these situations before. We know how to stabilize, reframe, and move forward.
Putting purpose before personalities in service of the work's best outcome.
With collaborative leadership, practical strategy, and accountable execution.
We define the problem, decision rights, risks, and success criteria before pushing teams into activity.
We tell owners what they need to hear, not just what is easy to say.
We bring structure to scope, cost, schedule, risk, governance, and stakeholder alignment.
We represent the owner's mission, money, reputation, and long-term interests.
We lead through complexity without theatrics, panic, or false certainty.
The best advisory relationship is one where the owner never has to wonder whose side their advisor is on.
